BY THE NUMBERS: WHERE WE STAND ON BREASTFEEDING RESEARCH & WHY

As a researcher and data expert myself, I was shocked by how little actual research and data exists on breastfeeding, breast milk, and postpartum life for nursing moms. For the small amount of existing research, the results are often buried in formal journal articles that are not translated from research jargon and academic papers down to meaningful tips and actions for moms.  We dive into what topics are studied and how they vary from the most frequent questions from nursing moms.  After studying the details of existing studies, I propose four potential reasons why the research numbers are so low and why the topics do not align with the top questions from nursing moms.
